In Schwamendingen, a replacement building with 22 modern, energy-efficient apartments was built beside a small stream at the edge of the forest. The new building was erected on the existing plot to replace an outdated building. The solid structure features high-quality thermal insulation that minimises energy demand. The facade was given durable cladding, and the roof was fitted with effective insulation and modern solar panels. Every apartment in the new building offers a generous layout and a balcony or terrace with a green view. Energy-efficient windows add to comfort and reduce heating costs. The apartments are also barrier-free and accessible by lift. At the same time, the existing building with 13 apartments underwent an extensive renovation. The facade was renewed and given high-quality insulation, the windows were replaced with energy-efficient models, and the roof was fitted with modern solar panels. Every apartment received a balcony or terrace. The renovation brought the existing building up to a modern, energy-efficient standard, increased living comfort and reduced energy consumption and heating costs in the long term.
